Aptos: Fugitive Washington couple and children found at gas station

Though Rengo was released, Carey was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer and delaying a peace officer, all felonies, Sadek said.

APTOS — A couple wanted by police and kid protective services in Wn. state after they left with their 3 kids against court orders were found by local Cali. Hwy Patrol officers.

Cleave Goheen Rengo, 29, and Erica May Carey, 23, were wanted by the Bellingham Police Department and Kid Protective Services in Washington.

The couple had left Bellingham around Jan. 24 with Unity Rengo, fourteen months old, and twins Daniel and Mornakai Rengo, three months old.


California law enforcement agencies had been alerted of a sighting in Rio Del Mar, and on Thursday a caller CHP officers to a gas station near State Park Drive and Highway 1 in Aptos, officer Brad Sadek said.
